10K Relay

 

BACK IN 2024!!  A fantastic way to divide and conquer the 10K route, a team of two (2)! Each person runs roughly a 5K to get a team total 10K as you cross that finish! You both get your swag, finisher's medal, craft beers, food AND you qualify for 10K awards! BIG PRIZES to the top male team, top female team and top co-ed team! BIG FUN for EVERY finisher!

 

Relay Details:

  • Leg 1 starts with the traditional half marathon and 10K participants from South Park (See Map #1)
  • Head north on Barclay Downs Dr toward Carnegie Blvd/Morrison Blvd
  • Turn right on Runnymede Ln (0.82 miles)
  • Water Stop #1 (Runnymede Ln & Colony Rd, Mile 1.5)
  • Turn left on Sharon Rd (1.6 miles)
  • Turn right on S. Wendover Rd (1.9 miles)
  • Turn right on Providence Rd (2.35 miles)
  • Water Stop #2 (Providence & Sharon Lane, Mile 3)
  • 10K and 10K Relay will turn RIGHT onto Sharon Lane.  A volunteer will yell, "HALF MARATHON STRAIGHT, 10K RIGHT!"
  • Leg 2 starts at the hand off point at the Providence United Methodist Church, on the corner of Providence Road and Sharon Lane past the water stop #2 (See Map #2)
  • DO NOT HAND OFF PRIOR TO WATER STOP.  Allow Leg 1 to split from the half marathon participants, pass the water stop and hand off in designated area shown below.  Volunteers will be there to manage this area and assist.
  • Turn right on Foxcroft Rd (3.8 miles)
  • Turn left on Seward Pl (4 miles)
  • Turn left on Ferncliff Rd (4.2 miles)
  • Water Stop #5 (Ferncliff and Lacie Ln.)
  • Turn left on Barclays Downs Dr (5.83 miles)
  • Turn left on Carnegie Blvd (5.89 miles)
  • Turn right on S Park Rd (6.15 miles)


   

 

Transition Details:

  • Please note, it is the relay team's responsibility for transportation.
  • Parking is available at the Church lot PRIOR to the start of the race. 
  • Leg 2 takes a vehicle, bicycle or their own two feet to the hand off point. Leg 1 can then take the vehicle, bicycle or their own two feet back to the start/finish in order to celebrate with their teammate and the community at the party in Symphony Park.
